ScribeMage's Grimoire

Ruin had a Choose Your Own Adventure side story

It was an interactive page on the initial version of Micmage.com. What Happened? It wasn't that good. It was rushed, predictable and relied too much on the story based slang terms I invented for the album.

Good to know I CAN do such a thing on my site. It was fun setting up, so I might give it another go for a future project soon.

"MF DOOM?"

It's a question mark. Last song on the album is "?"

Illustrated album art for MF DOOM's Operation Doomsday. He's holding a microphone, and wearing a green hoodie that looks similar to the one Doctor Doom wears.

Don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

PO-35 Speak

Po-35 Speak, in a stylish color changing case I ordered from techguyyuma over at eBay.

That kid really likes his Tencho.

I wanted my site to look like a Gamepro page.

Maybe some day...

How "Sketch8" Broken the Spell of Artistic Burnout

Drawing in the Wick Editor(with a mouse, and while using my off hand) is somehow more enjoyable than using a pencil.

The Isolation Code: How I Protect My Creative Passion in a Noisy World

Simpson's characters, Itchy the mouse and Scratchy the cat, hitting each other over the head with mallots.

This is what everyone else looks like to me, so I just ignore them and go about my own business.

Persistence Is Just Stubbornness With a Nice Haircut

And a weird,yet endearing accent.

The Death of Doomscrolling: How Smashing the Puny Youtube Habit Restored My Peace of Mind

Yeah. You can just log off. It's not at all a complicated proposition. I don't know why everyone thinks It's something they can't do.

Crazy, right?

Playing Tetris with the Astral Self: The Anatomy of Two Bars on "Scars(a Third)"

One of my absolute favorite songs on 7 Solemn Rites was written entirely around the concept of astral projection.

The structure—I, Me, My(self)—was my way of hitting on different angles of a person's shortcomings. It's like playing Tetris with someone else in the room. You're always going to do better when you’ve got an extra set of eyes looking at the board.

Because these three verses represent different layers of awareness, I placed a very important set of bars right in the "My(self)" verse for Scars(a Third):

"Woe steps cannot place a trace if we foe flips /" "And time cannot play my face if we focused."

This right here is all about dealing with the cards you were dealt by refusing to engage the predetermined target. The world sets up these invisible traps for you, and if you walk right into them, it only serves to keep you in bondage with zero hope of advancing in the game.

The clock is going to tick no matter how you feel about it. There are no timeouts in this life. You're expected to go out there and get things done in a timely fashion, and let's be real—nobody cares if you're tired or scared. You're on someone else's schedule until you decide you aren't.
